present in Data Centers dramatically degrade storage
performance and energy efficiency of the Data Center. We
call this effect the “Vibration Penalty”. Typical levels of
vibration measured at the Server or Storage Device (.2 grms)
is enough to cripple the I/O throughput of Servers and
Storage, wasting as much as 2/3 of the energy used for power
and cooling, and costing Data Center operators billions of
dollars per year in excess capacity and wasted energy. Green

Solution to “The Vibration Penalty”
Green
Platform’s Anti-vibration solutions use new and innovative
technologies not currently available elsewhere. The Green
Platform solution is neither software
nor hardware in typical IT parlance. Our initial product the
AVR-1000™, is an Anti-Vibration Rack™ which employs advanced
composite materials to effectively dissipate vibration from
servers and storage equipment. Unlike software and hardware
solutions, Green Platform products are passive,
non-intrusive, easy to install, and require no support
or maintenance.
